About us

Rockterms was created by legal professionals frustrated with the clumsy and ineffective process of creating and maintaining legal documents on websites – tedious and heavy, and let’s be honest – rarely read.

Ugis Pilabers is the man behind the idea. After having drafted, created, and amended legal documents for tens of startups, he realized that the principles often applied to the startups he was serving, were also applicable to legal texts – simplicity, user-centricity, and beautiful UX. And so he set out to build the tool that would be just as innovative as the products they’re describing.

By reducing the heavy legal texts to icons, not only does it drastically reduce the length of legal documents (up to 50%), but also increases the speed of reading and user comprehension for important topics to them, such as their data privacy. The best part? Icons are universal – as the product grows and new languages are added, legal reps won’t have to put in massive amounts of time managing translations.
